Collection: Planting Hope for Logan

I met my friend Logan Temple when he was a sweet kid who loved sushi. He was one of my favorite diners before he became a beloved busser at the restaurant he and his family frequented & where I served. Logan's mother Stacey is my motherhood hero for how smart, funny, polite and appreciative she raised her boys to be. Serving them was a pleasure & working with Logan, only more so. He was our hilarious partner on many mind numbingly busy nights beside the lake in the heat of a gorgeous summer, and just as many boring winter shifts where his humor was all that made the night pass. He was excited about graduating from high school & looking forward to serving alongside us that summer, when he was diagnosed with cancer.

Logan Reese Temple bravely battled a rare and aggressive form of Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma and to our devastation, lost that fight at the age of 21.

I began raising Hoyas last year in hopes to give back to the places that gave Logan & his family comfort or assistance when he was fighting cancer & also to raise awareness in general after learning that only 4% of the National Cancer Institute's research budget goes towards ALL forms of pediatric cancer, combined.

Logan's family has requested that donations be made to The Schindler Foundation, who provides housing for families going through chemotherapy & treatment. Consequently, 21% of all plant sales will be donated in Logan's memory & each plant will come with a tiny pig tucked in the dirt to bring you a smile like they did for him & he did for us.

Thank you for your support.
